James Scherzo, 91, passed away on November 24th, 2019 in North Carolina. Born in Newark, NJ, Jimmy spent most of his life in Westfield.

He was a career Maintenance man at Daltrui Industries. Jimmy’s favorite place was Ceasars Casino in Atlantic City. He was a master of the Craps Table. During the summer months, he would often be found at Monmouth Race Track watching the horses.
Jimmy will be missed for his great sense of humor and generosity. Anywhere he went he was known to put a smile on people’s faces. His grandchildren will have fond memories of learning to play poker with their grandfather.
Jimmy is predeceased by his wife Louise, his parents (Giovanni and Carmela Scherzo), and three brothers (Sam, Albert, and Johnny) and a sister (Vicky).
He is survived by his daughters, Arlene McDevitt (husband Mike) and Marie Rizkalla (husband Paul) and four grandchildren (Krista, Kyley, Paul Jr, and Jenna) and sister (Lucy)
Visitation will be at The Dooley Colonial Home, 556 Westfield Ave., Westfield on Thursday December, 5th from 4 to 8pm. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 6th at 10am at The Dooley Colonial Home. Entombment will follow at St. Gertrude Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Alzheimer’s Association.
